Delaware Subaru Does it Again! - Hailey M

Becky and Bob were a bonded pair of pups who we rescued via our 2nd Chance program - where we transport animals from other shelters that don't have enough homes to meet the supply to our shelters and find them homes. Becky and Bob were the best of friends and were what we would call bonded - that is, their quality of life suffers when they are separated. Often bonded pairs take longer to adopt because most folks don't come into the shelter looking to bring home two animals at once, but happily, we were working with Delaware Subaru for the Share the Love Event at the time! Thanks to a grant by the ASPCA and Subaru, for a week in October, we were able to waive adoption fees for all large adult dogs (40lbs+ 1yo+) and adult cats (6mo+). A very big THANK YOU to Subaru for making these happy stories possible. Now these two pups are living their best life in a home where they can be together - the way it was meant to be. Thank you Subaru!

From the moment we walked through the door - Regina A

From the moment we walked through the door the first time until we drove off the lot with our new CrossTrek, we were treated with dignity and respect; our questions were answered; our experience as customers truly exceptional. The sales experience we had, if it had been filmed, would have provided an excellent training video for your use in training new salespersons in how to do everything perfectly -- really -- it was that great!

Delaware Subaru Loves Pets - Zeus - Valerie D

Thank you to Delaware Subaru for nominating the Brandywine Valley SPCA as their hometown shelter for Subaru Loves Pets month in October! As part of this special month, DE Subaru covered the cost of adoption fees for several of our adoptable animals. We had some extra special adoptions associated with the campaign, including that of a senior dog named Zeus. Zeus came to us after his owner sadly passed away. Not only did he lose his lifelong home, but he also had some health issues associated with an aging pup. He was understandably afraid and confused but remained sweet as can be as he waited patiently for almost 2 months with us at our New Castle campus. Thanks to DE Subaru, Zeus’ adoption fee was sponsored, and he received some extra spotlight and promotion. We held a Facebook Live adoption event to showcase some of the Subaru-sponsored pets, and Zeus went to his forever home that day! An update from his adopter tells us that Zeus is doing great and is adjusting well to his new home. He even has a doggie sibling! We’re grateful to DE Subaru for helping underdogs like Zeus find their happily ever after.

Assisting Center for Women’s and Children’s Health - Amy B

Celebrating the first “birthday” of the ChristianaCare’s Center for Women’s and Children’s Health, Michael Uffner, ChristianaCare Board of Advisor, and his team at Delaware Subaru presented its annual, generous gift to ChristianaCare to support the Center for Women and Children’s Health. The gift of $10,000 was part of the proceeds from the Wilmington dealership’s annual Subaru “Share the Love” campaign. “It is especially meaningful to us to provide support this year,” said Uffner, president, chairman and CEO at Delaware Subaru and Auto Team Delaware. “The incredible team at the Center for Women’s and Children’s Health opened this extraordinary new facility during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not miss a beat in caring for the newest members of our community and their families.”ChristianaCare’s state-of-the-art Center for Women’s and Children’s Health opened one year ago — on April 27, 2020 — welcoming caregivers, parents, partners and families across the Delaware region. In its first year, more than 6,000 babies were born at the Center. “Most of all, the Center is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a wonderful space for families and staff, yet it’s the care we provide inside and for families that matters most,” said David Paul, M.D., chair of the Department of Pediatrics. “Generous financial donations and moral support from partners like Delaware Subaru have been lights on our path. We share our heartfelt gratitude for their ongoing partnership. ”Over the past five years, Uffner and his team have given ChristianaCare more than $65,000 as part of their effort to “Share the Love,” which designates funds from every Subaru sold between November and January to select nonprofits. “All health care workers have gone above and beyond during the pandemic,” Uffner said, “and nurses hold a special place among those heroes.” The Center for Women’s and Children’s Health is eight-story, approximately 400,000 square foot center with the most advanced care and amenities including new and expanded labor and delivery suites, expanded private rooms for mothers and families after delivery, a rooftop garden and separate admitting and discharge areas. As with all first years, there are exciting new developments. Among the Center’s first year advances are: • The launch of Pregnancy Care Coach, a free mobile app that works like a comprehensive virtual care coach for moms-to-be. • Bidirectional texting to support convenient, timely communication among caregivers and patients. • Personalized experiences including dining menus that allow for à la carte selections and more. Christiana Hospital is the only delivering hospital Delaware to offer a Level III NICU. The unit, fully equipped with advanced technology and expert neonatal specialists, averages over 1,100 admissions annually.

Home Delivery - a 5 star experience! - John F

I had a once in a lifetime experience at Delaware Subaru ! Due to the covid pandemic, the entire leasing experience was done by telephone. Andy Rash was very instrumental in acquiring the vehicle that I was interested in and Kevin Ellis was also very helpful in making the home delivery arrangements as well as fielding my multiple phone calls. I would highly recommend any friend or family member to contact Delaware Subaru for 5 Star Service in getting the job done efficiently, in a timely manner ( 2 days ) and for the right price! I love my new Forester, it has all the features that I requested and more !

Subaru Loves Pets - 35 Hounds - Valerie D

We are so grateful to Subaru of Delaware for selecting the Brandywine Valley SPCA as their hometown shelter partner for Subaru Loves Pets Month. Thanks to them and Subaru of America, during the month of October, over 60 dog’s adoption fees were either fully or partially covered! In fact, half of those dogs were adopted at an event held at Subaru of Delaware’s dealership. Subaru Loves Pets Month and everything it embodies, could not have come at a better time for a group of 35 hounds who were rescued from a hoarding situation in Delaware at the end of September. The hounds were seized from deplorable living conditions by Delaware Office of Animal Welfare (OAW) and brought to the BVSPCA. Ranging in age from six months to nine years old, the hounds were all in fair to poor condition. Fortunately, almost all of these sickly, but sweet hounds were adopted in October, aka Subaru Loves Pets month! We are thankful for Subaru of DE’s support, which helped bring awareness and promotion to the adoptable dogs at the BVSPCA, including special underdogs like these hounds.
