Assisting Center for Women’s and Children’s Health - Amy B

Celebrating the first “birthday” of the ChristianaCare’s Center for Women’s and Children’s Health, Michael Uffner, ChristianaCare Board of Advisor, and his team at Delaware Subaru presented its annual, generous gift to ChristianaCare to support the Center for Women and Children’s Health. The gift of $10,000 was part of the proceeds from the Wilmington dealership’s annual Subaru “Share the Love” campaign. “It is especially meaningful to us to provide support this year,” said Uffner, president, chairman and CEO at Delaware Subaru and Auto Team Delaware. “The incredible team at the Center for Women’s and Children’s Health opened this extraordinary new facility during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not miss a beat in caring for the newest members of our community and their families.”ChristianaCare’s state-of-the-art Center for Women’s and Children’s Health opened one year ago — on April 27, 2020 — welcoming caregivers, parents, partners and families across the Delaware region. In its first year, more than 6,000 babies were born at the Center. “Most of all, the Center is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a wonderful space for families and staff, yet it’s the care we provide inside and for families that matters most,” said David Paul, M.D., chair of the Department of Pediatrics. “Generous financial donations and moral support from partners like Delaware Subaru have been lights on our path. We share our heartfelt gratitude for their ongoing partnership. ”Over the past five years, Uffner and his team have given ChristianaCare more than $65,000 as part of their effort to “Share the Love,” which designates funds from every Subaru sold between November and January to select nonprofits. “All health care workers have gone above and beyond during the pandemic,” Uffner said, “and nurses hold a special place among those heroes.” The Center for Women’s and Children’s Health is eight-story, approximately 400,000 square foot center with the most advanced care and amenities including new and expanded labor and delivery suites, expanded private rooms for mothers and families after delivery, a rooftop garden and separate admitting and discharge areas. As with all first years, there are exciting new developments. Among the Center’s first year advances are: • The launch of Pregnancy Care Coach, a free mobile app that works like a comprehensive virtual care coach for moms-to-be. • Bidirectional texting to support convenient, timely communication among caregivers and patients. • Personalized experiences including dining menus that allow for à la carte selections and more. Christiana Hospital is the only delivering hospital Delaware to offer a Level III NICU. The unit, fully equipped with advanced technology and expert neonatal specialists, averages over 1,100 admissions annually.

Home Delivery - a 5 star experience! - John F

I had a once in a lifetime experience at Delaware Subaru ! Due to the covid pandemic, the entire leasing experience was done by telephone. Andy Rash was very instrumental in acquiring the vehicle that I was interested in and Kevin Ellis was also very helpful in making the home delivery arrangements as well as fielding my multiple phone calls. I would highly recommend any friend or family member to contact Delaware Subaru for 5 Star Service in getting the job done efficiently, in a timely manner ( 2 days ) and for the right price! I love my new Forester, it has all the features that I requested and more !

Subaru Loves Pets - 35 Hounds - Valerie D

We are so grateful to Subaru of Delaware for selecting the Brandywine Valley SPCA as their hometown shelter partner for Subaru Loves Pets Month. Thanks to them and Subaru of America, during the month of October, over 60 dog’s adoption fees were either fully or partially covered! In fact, half of those dogs were adopted at an event held at Subaru of Delaware’s dealership. Subaru Loves Pets Month and everything it embodies, could not have come at a better time for a group of 35 hounds who were rescued from a hoarding situation in Delaware at the end of September. The hounds were seized from deplorable living conditions by Delaware Office of Animal Welfare (OAW) and brought to the BVSPCA. Ranging in age from six months to nine years old, the hounds were all in fair to poor condition. Fortunately, almost all of these sickly, but sweet hounds were adopted in October, aka Subaru Loves Pets month! We are thankful for Subaru of DE’s support, which helped bring awareness and promotion to the adoptable dogs at the BVSPCA, including special underdogs like these hounds.

Delaware Subaru breaks records with Pet Adoption Event! In early October 2020, in participation with Subaru Loves Pets Month, Delaware Subaru hosted an outdoor Pet Adoption event along with the Brandywine Valley SPCA. In partnership with Subaru of America, Delaware Subaru was able to secure a Grant valued at $5,000 for the Brandywine Valley SPCA. The Brandywine Valley SPCA, in turn, opted to put this grant toward the Pet Adoption Event so that ALL Adoption fees were waived! Several days prior to the event, Delaware Subaru posted the event to their Facebook Page, #DelawareSubaru, and received such an overwhelming response (225 people responded as “attending,” with 1,200 additional responses of “interested”) that the day prior to the event, Delaware Subaru committed an Additional $3,100 toward Adoption Fees! The day of the event turned the Facebook response to a reality with over 200 people lined up at the dealership for the 9 am Adoption Event, with those at the front of the line indicating that they arrived prior to 6:30 am!!! (We appreciate everyone wearing a mask.) The Brandywine Valley SPCA was able to process 36 total adoptions, 6 cats and 30 dogs - including a senior German Shepard with poor vision! In addition, realizing that there would not be enough Pets for all of the people in line, Delaware Subaru provided additional coupons good toward future Adoption fees to the many attendees who were unable to adopt a pet during the event. The event would not have been possible without the gracious volunteers of the Brandywine Valley SPCA. We thank all who attended, and we wish all new pet owners the best with their new furry friends!

ChristianaCare has the only Level III NICU at a delivering hospital in Delaware. The gift of $13,645 was part of the proceeds from the Wilmington dealership’s annual Subaru “Share the Love” campaign.“ChristianaCare provides world-class care to the youngest, most fragile patients,” said Uffner, president, chairman and CEO at Delaware Subaru and Auto Team Delaware. “Delaware Subaru is honored to support the work they do and give back to our neighbors and friends in the community.”ChristianaCare opened its new Center for Women’s & Children’s Health at Christiana Hospital in April. We truly are grateful for their ongoing support.”Over the past five years, Uffner and his team have given Christiana Care more than $65,000 as part of their effort to “Share the Love,” which designates funds from every Subaru sold between November and January to select nonprofits.

Delaware Subaru Supports LLS - Vienna P

For the 2nd year in a row, in July of 2019, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Delaware Chapter partnered with Delaware Subaru Vice President, Lee Asher, and Sales Manager, April Gambacorta, to deliver patient care items to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center at Christiana Hospital as a part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. The two organizations delivered blankets to hospital staff, who then delivered the items to patients throughout the cancer center, just as they did the prior year. The event was attended by hospital staff who were very appreciative of Subaru’s generosity. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, Delaware Subaru was able to provide Elementary school science books to the Bayard Middle School in Wilmington, Delaware. We'd like to thank the United Way of Delaware who helped us connect with the Bayard Middle School. Although our contribution was only about 100 books, we hope that these books can assist in the learning that happens when students have tools that inspire new ways of thinking and seeing the world. The Subaru Loves Learning initiative is a program through Subaru and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), where Subaru and Subaru Dealers are fueling the next generation of innovators by donating over 75,000 award-winning science books and school supplies to schools across the country.
