New Wilderness Trim Highlighted by Rugged Appearance and Additional Capabilities
Along with further styling, the new Subaru Wilderness Edition will offer additional capabilities and a greater off-roading presence than you'll find in the current models.
The 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine is expected to power the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness. The Subaru Forester, meanwhile, currently comes with the 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine and is not predicted to receive the turbocharged engine.
The Wilderness' rugged appearance package will add in all-terrain tires for off-road pursuits around Wilmington, DE and the banks of the Delaware River while also adding a lifted suspension and black six-spoke wheels. Wilderness-equipped Subaru Outbacks and Foresters will also gain LED fog lights, a blacked-out trim, bright-colored accents and badging, underbody armoring, skid plates and additional body cladding.
Hockessin, DE drivers can expect higher ground clearance than the current Outback's standard 8.7 inches. The SUV will also gain additional storage compartments and a new weather-friendly interior.
